£2.2 boost for rural economy!
April 1, 2015
We are very excited to announce that we have successfully secured £2.2 million in LEADER funding which will be distributed as grants from 2015-2020!
The aim is to support farming and rural enterprise projects that will help to promote economic growth, generate new jobs and improve the quality of life in rural communities across the region.
This opportunity has been made possible through the amazing commitment and enthusiasm of local people and all our partner organisations. Together we have identified the barriers we face as a rural area and successfully applied for LEADER status so that we might fund innovative and collaborative solutions.
In the Yorkshire Dales area, YDMT is the lead partner in the multi-agency partnership that is the LEADER programme, funding for which comes from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and is managed by Defra.
