Mountain Drumming, Sat 14th May

April 8, 2011

Join YDMT for an afternoon of authentic Brazilian Samba Reggae drum music with a splash of dance thrown in.

Community drumming band Batala Lancaster will be performing their exciting fusion of rhythm, movement and costume for your enjoyment in and around the village of Clapham.

Everyone welcome – feel free to dip in and out as you wish and experience the dynamic vitality of Brazilian culture right here in the Yorkshire Dales.

FREE PERFORMANCES:

1.30pm                        At the entrance to the Nature Trail in Clapham village

2.45pm                        Outside Ingleborough Caves
6.20pm                        Grand Finale on the summit of Ingleborough

NB: All times are approximate.  If you’re thinking of joining us on the summit, please bring warm clothing, waterproofs, boots and a snack.

All donations will be gratefully received on the day in aid of YDMT.

And if that wasn’t enough, while all this is happening, another group of dedicated Batala Lancaster members will be pushing themselves to the limit hauling their (very large and very heavy) drums up hill and down dale as they take on the 25 mile walk of the Three Peaks Challenge!   At the end of the day the whole band will meet at the top of Ingleborough and perform the FREE GIG.

If you’d like to sponsor the Batala Lancaster Three Peaks team, please visit www.justgiving.com/MountainDrumming.

We’d love to see you on the day!
