The Trust said a big thank you to the People’s Postcode Lottery and their players last week, after receiving another crucial donation of almost £80,000.
The huge sum of £78,074 was raised by the People’s Postcode Lottery, which gives 40p from every ticket sold to local charities. Almost £12million has been raised by the charity lottery for good causes to date.
David Sharrod, YDMT Director says, “The Trust has now received an amazing £225,332 in total from People’s Postcode Lottery, allowing us to deliver more projects than ever before that benefit the natural landscape and communities within the Yorkshire Dales. I’d like to say a huge thank you to People’s Postcode Lottery and their players for their vital support.”

Clara Govier, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery commented “We’re delighted to award Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust with this funding. It’s an incredible organisation doing a huge amount of work across the Dales, and we’re very proud that our players can support them in continuing this.”
We’ll be putting the money to excellent use, supporting many local projects including the conservation of threatened habitats like hay meadows and wetlands, and the restoration of broadleaf woodlands, plus the funds will help us to continue the pioneering work with disadvantaged and disabled people through the People and the DALES project.
